How to become an Aged Care worker

You are generally required to complete a qualification in individual support or undertake a traineeship.

  • Complete a Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) at a TAFE or Registered Training Organisation (RTO)
  • Complete a traineeship at an aged care facility, under the direct instruction from other senior Aged Care Workers.
  • We also recommend completing a first aid certificate will help you to administer basic first aid if you find yourself in an emergency situation.
